Modern Israel is Fulfilled Prophecy
Israel & The Jews Below are Bible prophecies concerning God’s chosen people, the Jewish people. The Jews or Hebrews are the offspring of the historical fathers; Abraham, Issac and Jacob. It’s through their descendants, the nation of Israel, that God’s promises blessing to the world. “And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” Genesis 12:2-3
God gave a promise to Abraham regarding his descendants (Israel) and that promise still stands today; "I will confirm My covenant with you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you. And I will give the entire land of Canaan, where you now live as a foreigner, to you and your descendants. It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God." Genesis 17:7-8
The Old Testament Prophets foretold that the ancient Jewish nation would be conquered multiple times, and that they would return to their promised land in Canaan (Palestine today). History shows the prophecies to be true; 722 BC: The northern kingdom of Israel is destroyed by the Assyrians 597-582 BC: Judah and Jerusalem are destroyed king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. 538 BC: The Persian king Cyrus allows the exiles back, and the Temple in Jerusalem is rebuilt. 63 BC: The Romans conquer Judaea and soon install the family of Herod the Great. 70 AD: The Romans conquer Jerusalem and destroy the Temple and the Jews are dispersed. God's prophets said, further, that the Jews would remain scattered throughout the entire world for many generations, but without becoming assimilated by the peoples or of other nations, and that the Jews would one day return to the land of Palestine to re-establish for a final time (Deuteronomy 29; Isaiah 11:11-13; Jeremiah 25:11; Hosea 3:4-5 and Luke 21:23-24). This prophecy sweeps across 3,500 years of history to its complete fulfillment—in our lifetime. 1948 AD: The Jews return to the promised land after World War 2 and unite Jerusalem in 1967.
“What To Watch For” regarding Israel
THE COMPLETED PEACE AGREEMENT
It’s 2021, but 2017 was Isreal’s year of anniversaries! There are at least six significant Israel-related anniversaries: 1. The first Zionist Congress calling for Jews to return (120th) 2. The Balfour Declaration opened the land for Jews to return (100th) 3. The UN Partition Resolution gave parts of the land to the Jews (70th) 4. The Six-Day War - Jews take Jerusalem and Temple Mount (50th) 4. Anwar Sadat’s visit to Jerusalem seeking peace with Egypt (40th) 5. The first intifada against the Jews in their land (30th). Current things to consider: - Was this the beginning of another important event in Israel’s history? - In 2021 will we continue to watch the setup of the northern nations? - The fact that thousands of years after these prophecies were given we find ourselves watching them come to pass is amazing!
The prophecy in Ezekiel 38 begins this way; “This is another message that came to me from the LORD: "Son of man, turn and face Gog of the land of Magog, the prince who rules over the nations of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. Give him this message from the Sovereign LORD: Gog, I am your enemy! And I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords. Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes—many peoples are with you. "Be ready and keep ready, you and all your hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them. A long time from now you will be called into action. In the distant future you will swoop down on the land of Israel, which will be enjoying peace after recovering from war and after its people have returned from many lands to the mountains of Israel. ” Ezekiel 38:1-7

The Bible has nearly 800 references to Jerusalem “the City of our God” and “the city of the great King”. The God of Jerusalem is key to the Jewish people, to Jesus and to the end of the age. It is this city where Jesus’ return is prophesied. Angels told the disciples when Jesus ascended, that he is returning; "Men of Galilee," they said, "why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday He will return from heaven in the same way you saw Him go!" Acts 1:11 The Old Testament prophet Zechariah also prophesied this day; “On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. And the Mount of Olives will split apart, making a wide valley running from east to west…” Zechariah 14:4
ISRAEL’S NORTH, SYRIA and the GOLAN HEIGHTS
Will Peace come to Jerusalem before Jesus’ return? If there ever was an example of God’s love for mankind, it’s found in his promises to Abraham, Israel and this city. Yet, until Jesus returns, Jerusalem will not see real peace and will continue to be trouble for all nations. This is what the prophecies tell us. “On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it.” Zechariah 12:3
JERUSALEM and the TEMPLE MOUNT
In the book of Ezekiel 38, God issued one of His most startling prophecies in all of Scripture. He foretold that, in the latter days, after Israel had been returned to her land, the nation of Russia would come down from the far north and protect the nations gathered (Ezekiel 38:7). The alliance of nations would then make an attack on Israel from the north. Turkey, Iran and other nations would be a part of this invasion (Ezekiel 38:18). Now, remember, God wrote through His prophet, Ezekiel, in approximately 592 BC which means that these prophecies were written almost 2,600 years ago! We are watching these nations gather there today! Current things to consider: - Russia moved into Syria in September 2015 to protect it’s government from being overrun (being a guard for them). The Syrain war has now gone on for over 10 years. It’s 2021 and Russia has continued to play the role as Gog. - Agreements have been made by Turkey, Iran and Russia to keep it’s troops north of Israel. Israel’s enemies are associated with Iran. - Israel’s Golan Heights is considered Syrian land by Syria and the United Nations. The US and Israel identifies it as Israeli land. - The Golan Heights has been identified as land with a great potential of underground oil. Iran proxies are moving closer and closer to the land. - The Israel controlled parts of the Mediterranean now holds one of the largest gas fields in the world and agreements are now made with Greece and Cyrus. - Hezbollah (Lebanon) has been preparing for war as they are a proxie for Iran. - Iran is mentioned in the Biblical text (Persia) and as we know, they play a role in the region, looking to eventually, “rid the world of the evil Zionist”, as they view it. They are continually trying to send military and weapons into Syria. - Ezekiel’s prophecy states that the war may also be economically related.
The excitement for a third temple in Jerusalem grows. The Bible clearly teaches that a new temple — which will be called The Third Temple — will be built in the end times. The prophet Daniel refers to this temple when he says that “the prince who is to come” (Antichrist) will enter it and stop the sacrifices in the middle of the Tribulation (Daniel 9:27). The Third Temple is mentioned in the book of Revelation (Revelation 11:1-2). The Jews are moving closer to actually making this dream a reality. You should see more and more news stories about the Temple Mount as we get closer to the return of Jesus! The Apostle Paul mentions it when he declares that the “man of lawlessness” will profane the temple by entering it and declaring himself to be God (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). Current things to consider: - The temple Institute in Jerusalem has orchestrated the promotion of a third temple with all the needed materials being made and a Sanhedrin (priests needed to run it) in place. - The United Sates recognition of Jerusalem as it’s captial helps the cause. - 2021 is the 54 year anniversary since Israel unified Jerusalem in the 1967 war. - The Jordanian police (Waqf) still controls the management of the mount. - As more nations are moving closer to recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, peace agreements are signed, we may see a move to build.

Every day we hear something about the middle east peace agreements, or lack thereof. Regardless, at some point they will be completed and this will be the a sign that we will see indicating the end times. Daniel 9:27 tells us it will be a seven year covenant between a world leader and Israel. It may include the permission to rebuild the third temple in Israel. Are the Abraham Accords the foundation for a future colation of nations? The terms of the covenant not listed, but it is clear it will be a non-aggression pact, perhaps even a military alliance that will enable this leader to gain power over the 10 kingdoms (Daniel 7:23-24; 8:23-25; Revelation 17:8-17). It will include the protection of Israel in their national establishment and restoration and assure them at least temporary peace (Daniel 8:25; 9:27). Prophecy tells us that this peace treaty will not last. Current things to consider: - More Arab nations are moving closer to economic and diplomatic ties with Israel and world leaders are constantly looking to mediate a peace treaty.

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah are on the rise, and according to a Hezbollah commander based in southern Lebanon, the nature of their next conflict will be shaped by his organization’s gains in the Syrian civil war.

Muslims will not give up control of the mount easily. - 2017 is the 50 year anniversary since Israel unified Jerusalem in the 1967 war. - The Jordanian police (Waqf) which controls the management of the mount, has for the first time in over 50 years, boycotted the area in protest.
